Phoenix Craft Rave Recap

by Kustom Kissers 14. December 2011 19:54

Last Saturday crafty folks all over the Valley of Sun converged on Bragg's Pie Factory for the 2nd Annual Phoenix Craft Rave.  The 10-hour make-and-take marathon was designed to knock out your Christmas gift list in one shot.

My corner was sea of pink.  Duh.  I sold Design Your Own Lip Balm Kits including 5 blank lip balms, 5 lip balm labels, 5 white favor boxes and lots of goodies to decorate them all with.  If you didn't make it out, you can score a kit in the Kustom Kissers Etsy shop.

Check out the line before opening!  The first 100 people through door received sweet swag bags with items from Provo Crafts, Bazzil, Crafty Chica, Peeps, etc.  See those two ladies in the front who brought their own chairs?  Hardcore.

Attendees paid $5 at the door and then purchased tickets to trade at each table for craft supplies and personal instruction.  There was a wide variety of creative stuff ranging from coloring pillows to duct tape bracelets to finger puppets.

My table was popular among girls under the age of 10.  The Crafty Chica (one of the event organizers) purchased a Design Your Own Lip Balm Kit to entertain her young nieces during a sleepover.  She also shot a video of some of the instructors and their crafts, including moi.  I can't seem to make it embed here, so click over to check it out.

I love your concept and your absolutely fresh and fun spirit that comes through on your blog. I've enjoyed reading (especially the book you got - I am soooo off to buy "Where will you be in 5 years" and do that for myself). =)

About Kustom Kissers

Kustom Kissers was born out of a crafty girl’s life-long obsession with lip balm. Heather would be ecstatic to find Lip Smackers in her Christmas stocking as a small child. She has since sampled nearly every brand of lip balm available before deciding that an all natural formula was not only good for her but had the smoothest texture and yummiest taste.

Then, of course, she had to make it pretty and share with the rest of the world.
